Suggested Use

Protein intake promotes muscle adaptation in athletes, a process known as muscle protein synthesis. An intake of 20g of high-quality protein, via a meal or a supplement, provides a powerful but short-lived stimulation. This is ideal for most athletes who consume protein through their diet every 3-5 hours.
Increasing the dose to 40g provides a stronger stimulation, albeit to a lesser extent, making 40g a good option for those who want a stronger effect. A dose of 40g protein is also recommended when the next meal cannot be consumed for more than five hours. Therefore, 40g protein is a suitable dose just before bedtime or for an (intermittent) fasting period.
High protein intake can reduce feelings of hunger. This is often desirable for athletes aiming to lose weight, but possibly less desirable for athletes with high energy demands. With 20g of protein per Protein Unit, athletes can easily adjust their intake to their specific needs.
Protein consists of amino acids, which serve as building blocks for muscle tissue. L-Leucine, one of the amino acids in protein, plays a crucial role in stimulating muscle protein synthesis. In our Protein Series, we therefore primarily use whey protein, which naturally contains at least 2g L-Leucine per 20g protein.
