Mix 97 g of powder (= 3 scoops) with 500 ml of water. Drink 500 ml an hour during exercise.

Please do not exceed this dose to avoid excessive salt intake. Each time, take a few sips of Ultra Buffer and preferably rinse with water to minimize the risk of gastrointestinal discomfort.

To optimally benefit from the buffering effect of 6d Ultra Buffer, a dose of 0.3–0.4 g of sodium bicarbonate per kg of body weight is needed in the lead-up to the final part of the race. For a person weighing 70 kg, this amounts to 21–28 g of sodium bicarbonate. This dose can be achieved by drinking 500 ml of 6d Ultra Buffer every hour during races lasting at least 4 hours. For shorter races, a pre-load with 6d Sodium Bicarbonate capsules is recommended.

Frequenlty asked questions

An Ultra Unit is a unit of measurement that exactly 45g carbohydrates contains in a 1:1 carbohydrate ratio. The Ultra Unit ensures uniformity within our 6d Ultra Series, making it easy to supplement individual energy needs during exercise.

Carbohydrate intakes of ultra-endurance athletes are increasingly reaching up to 120g per hour, which is higher than the usual 90g. It is obvious that such high intakes are more difficult to achieve with only our Sports Series, as each Sports Unit contains only 30g carbohydrates.

Our Ultra Unit, on the other hand, contains exactly 45g carbohydrates, allowing endurance athletes to easily and precisely achieve carbohydrate intakes of 90g per hour, and even 120g per hour in combination with the Sports Unit.

During exercise, glucose absorption from the intestine into the bloodstream is limited to approximately 60-70g per hour. Therefore, for carbohydrate intakes above 90g per hour, more fructose is needed for maximum carbohydrate absorption. That's why a ratio with a higher fructose content, such as our 1:1 carbohydrate ratio, in addition to the 2:1 carbohydrate ratio, is essential to offer athletes flexible options. This allows them to choose different amounts and ratios that match their specific goals. For example:

2 Sports Units + 1 Ultra Unit: Results in a total of 105g carbohydrates, of which 62.5g glucose and 42.5g fructose (= 1:0.7 carbohydrate ratio);

1 Sports Unit + 2 Ultra Units: Results in a total of 120g carbohydrates, of which 65g glucose and 55g fructose (= 1:0.8 carbohydrate ratio).

Fluids and electrolytes (primarily sodium) are essential for optimal hydration. As you lose more sweat, the need for fluids and electrolytes also increases. That's why our sports drinks contain a mix of electrolytes with 400mg sodium. By using our sports drinks, you automatically replenish the electrolytes you lose during sweating.

Our gels are often used as the sole energy source during exercise, with water providing the necessary hydration. To support hydration, we have added 200mg sodium to our gels. This is not necessary for bars, as they are often used in combination with our sports drinks, which are rich in sodium and electrolytes. However, our bars with "salty" flavors do contain 200mg sodium and are therefore specifically intended for people who lose a lot of salt and thus have a higher need for sodium.
